I wish you would elaborate please.
AR Performance recommends telling them or him if you are going to shoot Remington ammo so he can enlarge the gas port. Personally I haven't had a problem with Remy ammo in my builds but I only used AR Perfomance in 3 or 4 builds and didn't have any issues.6.8 recoil is just a bit more than .556. Sometimes with a well tuned rifle, the 6.8 is not noticeable harder recoil at all. But most rifles feel like maybe 5-10% additional recoil.
Whereas an AR-10 in .308 feels like about a 2x increase in recoil, and in a much larger package.
The 6.8 round is also hi guyghly optimized for shorter barrels in the 11-16” range.
The energy on target as somebody mentioned is noticeable higher on steel than .556.
Especially if you reload, as there is a large selection of high quality projectiles available. If you dont reload, you can still stay in high quality expanding, bonded, or all brass expanding projectiles with a little work to order when available.
Just generally stay away from factory Remington ammo in 6.8, and be sure the barrel/chamber of the rifle is the spec II chamber.
