just try and find some surplus ammo somewhere. Its usually pretty cheap and just as reliable as anything else. Good luck.
Wolf steel cased is a good,cheap, non corrosive choice. Military surplus brass cased is also good but can be very corrosive. I clean my rifles very often so it's not a problem for me but to each his own. Just bought a sealed case of 1260 military surplus brass cased for 250 shipped from jg. Have fun! Did you get an ak,sks, or what?
I got a Romanian WASR AK. Nothing to fancy, just good for banging out some rounds. I think I will really enjoy it. I love the design of AKs. They will eat dirt and ask for seconds.
that brass cased yugo 7.62 shoots greeeeeeeeeaaaatttttttttt! its corrosive but clean the gas system after you shoot it and no worries, i got a couple 'o cases myself...........aimsurplus has is for around 210 shipped for 1120 rnds in a crate, mine is headstamped 1984
Cope's Distributing has a couple of different brands for $110 shipped per 500. I just received 500 rounds of Golden Tiger to run through my SKS.
Anything steel cased in an AK will do. Find the cheapest stuff you can get your hands on.

+1 I'm hoarding these... i've got 3 crates so far. Really good deal! I just run hot soapy water after shooting and no problems with the corrosive stuff.
