7.62x51 Ammo clearance at Midway USA.

That's not that bad for brass 308 but I never heard of that brand.

I am not a big 308 shooter but I do try to stay up to date on what people are plinking with, never heard of MEN.

German MEN and DAG has been around for a long time. This is made in Germany and I believe is now a subsidiary of Magtech/CBC These are not .308 as in commercially loaded .308 but is loaded to 7.62x51 NATO specs though it doesn't have the NATO Cross. They say this has berdan primers but a lot of other places have this same SKU MEN762A but the lot number is different and it's listed as boxer primed. MEN and DAG can have either. I have a few thousand rounds of the DAG and MEN and it's berdan primed. It's good stuff. I shoot it from a 7.62x51 NATO chambered M1 Garand and can make about 1" groups with iron sights at about 75yds. SGAmmo pulled a round down and has pictures of it on their site. http://www.sgammo.com/product/308-w...-147-grain-ammo-made-germany-men-2016-men762a

This may not be a steal but, it's cheaper than my known sources currently.

MEN 7.62x51 147 grain fmj for about 53 cents a round. Could always be better of course.

It's a good deal. This and the DAG was selling for as low as $79.95 for the 200rd Battlepacks which is $0.40 a round but that was around 2011. This is $0.52 a round and is as far as I can see the best price for this. That may be because it is berdan primed instead of boxer but if you're not a reloader that's not a big deal. It's also made in 2016 so it's not old surplus that's been laying around like some of the other stuff that's been offered in the past.
