My local gunsmith wants to do me some loads up using a 120 gr nosler ballistic tip but for some reason after having problems with the SST I'm nervous bout using any ballistic tip bulletI've always used the 120 ballistic tip. It works well.

Yep shot placement was in the left shoulder at 35 yds, fusion 120,no exit wound, and no blood trail.Same shot, same location, on a 9 pointer earlier with a 150 grain core lok out of a 30/30 DRT.I will stick with my 308's from now on.The last 6 deer have been 1 shot kills.40 to 127 yards with a 150 grain Sierra Pro Hunter.
Dang that's strange. I done the same thing at 52 yards and deer never moved. Course I was using corelokts tooYep shot placement was in the left shoulder at 35 yds, fusion 120,no exit wound, and no blood trail.Same shot, same location, on a 9 pointer earlier with a 150 grain core lok out of a 30/30 DRT.I will stick with my 308's from now on.The last 6 deer have been 1 shot kills.40 to 127 yards with a 150 grain Sierra Pro Hunter.
Sounds like a clean miss to me.
