......pretty good article, good read...........

  1. Violent crime is down and has been on the decline for decades.
  2. The principal public safety concerns with respect to guns are suicides and illegally owned handguns, not mass shootings.
  3. A small number of factors significantly increase the likelihood that a person will be a victim of a gun-related homicide.
  4. Gun-related murders are carried out by a predictable pool of people.
  5. Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime.
  6. There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation and homicide or violent crime rates.
  7. Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes much more often than they are used to commit crimes or suicide.
  8. Concealed carry permit holders are not the problem, but they may be part of the solution.

I believe that the armed citizens of this country pose a deterrent to any country that might contemplate invading the US. If only 50 million citizens own long guns, they perhaps own 5 or 6 and if this country were invaded, these armed citizens could arm another 50 million or more and we wold have a 100 million plus citizen army!

The libs know this and when they are in power or hope to gain power, they fight for gun control because they fear that the citizens will wake up on day and realize what the libs are about!

I think concealed carry is a large part of the problem. The majority of the people don't realize how many guns are around them all the time. They think there are none because they see none. That makes just the thought of them or the site of them scary. I am not asserting open carry, just pointing out they are not being desensitized to having them around.

The fact that the US is the main trading partner with just about any country that could ever want to invade is enough of a deterrent, not to mention our military. The charge of the armed citizenry is to look out for his or her fellow citizen. There are people on the left AND the right that don't like this idea. The 2A applies equally across parties and political ideology. Let's not polarize the issue. It's people that believe in taking responsibility for their own safety, versus those that prefer to call 911 and wait.
