85 to open back up Monday.

I worked off Armour Drive for over 3 years. It is right there where all this happened. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. It was pretty bad before this latest debacle.

Working nights downtown has its advantages. I do not deal with the daily traffic. That makes it so much easier.

3.1 million in extra incentives is nothing compared to the lost economic cost of the time spent in traffic, lost revenues to local businesses, etc.

So the big question is why can't Ga DOT and the contractors take the same approach with every project? They've shown they can do a great job when needed. I expect all of the NW Express Lanes can now be finished in the next 6-10 weeks.

I think it's called "lowest bidder".

Recently in Johns Creek there was seriously impeding work being done on the roads but apparently when the bid was granted there was no mention of the time of completion. Or maybe it was mentioned but no one paid attention.

Some days I would drive by and there would literally be three workers working. Someone finally called Channel 2 Investigators and helicopters started flying over and then the next thing you knew the project got done way ahead of schedule.

Because under normal circumstances money matters.

3 million in bonus money to the contractor is the difference in seeing 12 men supervsiing one with a shovel (GDOT) and 12 men with shovels supervised by one man.

The 85 bridge is CW Matthews, NW corridor is Archer Western . There is a reason they didn't call AW to rebuild 85. Just sayin

Rode Marta downtown to the NRA show...saw them repaving all the part of the highway that had been shut down.

Seemed like a good idea to me.
