First day ever getting to hunt my own property after buying 6.3 acres and moving to Dallas about a month ago.

That’s awesome!
My wife and I closed on some land in South Paulding not too long ago. I might get a sit in over there tomorrow.

I took a little doe this morning just to start my first season bow hunting off right and put some meet in the freezer. First a momma doe walked in with a fawn, and I had already told myself I wasn’t going to shoot her, but a few minutes later this smaller doe walked in and I took that one.

I felt pretty crummy about the shot at first, but hit her square in one lung and through the back of the other. She made it about 50 yards.

First compound bow kill.

Congratulations! If she ran 50 yards I’d say that was a good shot.

Congrats! Taking one with a bow is quite an accomplishment.

this year a single hog as been coming around from the spring to the trail always around 0200 hrs
