Were in for an evening public land hunt

Up in a tree here on my lease.
Acorns are dropping and tons of feeding sign. One doe seen so far.

Saw a couple small doe’s with fawns but nothing that I want to take yet

I could hunt to that song.

It was followed up by Don’t fear the reaper! Unfortunately the only deer that came in once sitting was about 15 feet behind me and it spotted me before I knew it was there. It was a blow and go experience. Not the good kind!

Missed a big old fat buck tonight.
I know what I did wrong.forgot to aim higher shooting uphill.

Happened before…..I should have known better.
He took two steps and kept browsing .
I reloaded in the tree without him knowing.

It was a slow/quiet
Process and by the time I cocked the crossbow and fed an arrow it was too dark ti see him.
Next time.

He came in 15 min after two spikes came in and were browsing around me.

Saw 5 deer total today, 2 this morning and 3 this evening. Also missed an opportunity at a yote this evening. He was trotting by too quick with only a small shot window. Set my hog trap with some bait I made last week, also set out some coon traps and a yote trap.
