92 f 150 fuel pressure

I have a 92 f150 duel tank and duel fuel pump. When you first start it it is hard to start. After you crank it you can cut it off and it will crank right back up. What would cause this? When you fill up both tanks all of the fuel will go to the front tank if you start with that one? It has me baffled. Everything is stock. Any help or a place to start is appreciated.

The fuel tank switching valve is going bad.

Way common on those.

He is right it's on the frame rail typically between the tanks.

Does it hard start on either tank?

I’ve seen the fuel regulator do this as well. Is it hard to start on either tank or just one? If it’s just one good chance it’s a pump.

It is on the inside of driver side frame rail about where your butt is. Lots of fuel lines going to it.

I've wondered that myself. I can hear the front tank hum when l turn the key but not the rear. But it will crank and run on the rear

I currently have the bed off of the truck. So l was hoping to get everything taken care of while it's apart.
