I am looking for a smallish 9mm carry gun for a small woman to carry. She had a Walther P99 that was to big to CC but she loved shooting. We looked at the Kahr CM9, Ruger LC9, and the Kimber Solo Carry. We've been unable to shoot any of the above as of yet. Any first hand knowledge comparing each? Pros/Cons of each?

Thanks

Keith

Is she able to rack the slide comfortably on them?

Another option she may want to consider is the S&W M&Pc. 9mm.

In our classes the brands most preferred by ladies after shooting them quite a bit are the
Kahr CW9, the Ruger SR9c, the S&W M&Pc, & of course the Glock 19 although its kind of large compared to some subcompacts.

I thought the LC9 would be a good option but had many complaints that the slide was too hard to cycle.

As has been suggested or mentioned there's no substitute for taking them on a "test-drive".

Good luck to you.

For a close equivcalent to the LC9 in size, hunt down one of the new M&P Shields. So far, it is on par to be one of the better options for a sub-compact 9mm.

I am looking for one for my wife also. I liked the Kahr 380 and the Sig Sauer 380 P238. I plan to take her to AO on monday to see which she likes better. The Kahr was 369 and the Sig was 549 in the stainless.

The Shield is very small by the pictures but I'm sure a good choice. The M&P 9c, now that is a great one! Got my gf that from another ODT'er and it's small and soft shooting and has capacity along with accuracy. Pretty good 3 dot adjustable sights and grips. Can't go wrong unless she is a tiny lady (hands). It ain't a Glock but can't go wrong with that choice

Looks to me like budget isn't too much of a concern.. if she likes the Walther she's got, get a PPS. VERY nice weapon, good and flat. And no 600 round break-in like a KAhr.

Or since she's already familiar with the "unique" controls on the P99, there is a P99 Compact model. The P99AS Compact in 9mm is a sweet piece.
