I’ve been my own retriever, bird dog and beagle all my life. You are most accurate with that description in how they flush.

I grew up hunting beagles and have two now but they are worthless spoiled pets. Never had a bird dog. Watching ANY hunting dog work to me is one of life's true great pleasures.

I had one fly over my head past legal shooting light and he was silhouetted against the evening sky.....I could see the detail of its outline and even its bill. Such a cool sight to see, even though I couldn’t shoot him.

Hell be paired in a scene with my bobcat mount. The cat is in a stalking pose, I’ll put the Woodcock in front of the cat.
