A few pics.

I don't put out mineral licks (or any supplemental anything) anymore but I noticed this year in my backyard they are hitting two separate spots where there hasn't been a mineral block in over FIVE YEARS (probably closer to ten). And one spot was simply one of the very small blocks back then. The other full sized. It's been warmer and dryer than normal so not sure if that has them unusually depleted. @unclejoe, that bear has shoulders!
I keep a mineral site up mainly for the overall benefit of the deer. The Bucks really hit the mineral hard while their antlers are growing and the does seem to do so in the spring and early summer.

For me, the risks don't outweigh any presumed benefits. But that's an entirely different thread. ;)
