Not to long ago a friend had a 270 BAR that was jamming on the first shot, failing to exctract the case. Figured out he didn't keep his gun cleaned like it needed to be. Had to clean up the gas port area, get rid of the rust, polish and oil up. Also had to loctite the scope bases, the screws were loose and starting to wobble out the holes. Anyway, got it to run like it should and shot a few rounds. I have never found spent brass to be so hot. I couldn't pick up the brass bare handed, had to wait for the stuff to cool down. Are all BAR's that way?
I would hate to think what it would be like if some how a case ended up in my shirt.
