Accurate enough 308

i want a 308 that can reach out and touch something.

It needs to be semi auto mag fed.

Will a C308 suffice or should I go with a AR-10?

I have had a CETME before and I loved it. ARs are meh to me but I have never had an AR-10.

M1A a mag fed rifle? I don't know much about them

Like Alleycat said. Amazing rifles, they aren't a 5.56 carbine weight weapon BUT they are soft shooters compared to the AR10's I have owned. And they just feel better. A 10 round mag (just because it has a better balance on the range than a heavy 20 or 25 rounder) and lock your arm in the sling and go to town!

Mags are expensive, stock blows ass, ugly as ****, still costs close to $1,000, not threaded from the factory. Also, why do those get plastic hard cases but a SCAR 16/17 comes in a cardboard box?

Its not cheap, but no more pricey than most other 30cal quality ammo. Agree though, if you have reloading equipment, it makes it much cheaper to shoot. I have 143gr 6.5cm down under $.70/rd, 308 can be done for very similar.
