Adding 2" barrel extension to a 16" gun to make it a long gun

MinutemanGear, while your 16 inch barreled carbine is not legally defined as a rifle or long gun in Georgia, it is not a handgun either.

In fact, it's not within the definition of a "weapon" as that term is defined in 16-11 -125.1 and thereafter used in the rest of Georgia's gun control laws (except the school property / school functions law, which has its own more particular definitions section).

What Code section of Georgia law would be violated when an 18, 19, or 20-year-old person carries, out in public and not just on your own property or in your own vehicle,
a 16 inch barreled pistol caliber carbine under his coat or otherwise concealed --and the gun is loaded?

I think the legislature screwed up when they drafted these laws and people like you are in a position to take advantage of their mistake.

16-11-126 is a law that lists all the exceptions first --the various circumstances under which the law does not create any crime.

Then, near the end of this long and convoluted law, here's the part that actually creates the criminal offense (this is the only part that you can violate; violating an exception does not create a crime, it just means the exception doesn't apply to you.)

16-11-126 (h)
  1. No person shall carry a weapon without a valid weapons carry license unless he or she meets one of the exceptions to having such license as provided in subsections (a) through (g) of this Code section.
  2. A person commits the offense of carrying a weapon without a license when he or she violates the provisions of paragraph (1) of this subsection.

Now, ask yourself this: can the crime that the Georgia General Assembly created and wrote here ...

ever apply to a person who is carrying a type of firearm that does not meet the statutory definition of "weapon"?

Dangit, reminds me I need to renew my GWCL early next year.
Just renewed mine (for the 4-5th time, I think). It was really easy. The probate court in my county has a link to a web page (I think it's Georgia wide) where you enter your current permit number and answer a bunch of questions and it fills out the forms for you. Printed them, took them to the court house, paid them $30, they took the picture and I got my renewal in about 7 days.

^^^ This

Nothing is considered a 'real' extension of the barrel unless it's pinned and welded or silver soldered.

If I ad a 2" barrel extension to a Keltec sub 2000 will it be legal for me to conceal carry unloaded aka unchambered as an 18 yr old, or will it need to be permanently attached in some way?
Just curious,
what good is an unloaded concealed weapon?
FYI, "unchambered" does not equal "unloaded".

In for pictures of his conceal carry rig for something with a 16 inch barrel...shoulder holster? Single point sling?
...Appendix carry...?
