I was all set to visit my local shop and order a new gun tomorrow morning.
But no.... not now.

Now I have to go buy a new washing machine instead... 🤬 part broke on 12 year old washer. Replacement part cost roughly 40-45% of replacing the whole washer an identical new one so it doesn't seem like a great investment to replace the part.

OK, rant over. I'll just hope the rest of the week doesn't Monday every day.

Cheap Amana washer, cheap on sale right now. The part apparently carries a premium as it is whirlpool branded. And it's just the part cost, no labor as I would DIY it.

Yes, it's much, much cheaper if I got it on Amazon. But I learned my lesson already with off brand Amazon appliance parts when I replaced a dryer roller. Amazon no name roller kit was like, $37-38. Bought, installed, it broke after 5 weeks. Manufactur's branded kit ended up costing me $45 and it's been going strong 1.5 years now and quieter operating than when the dryer was brand new.

My washer died (started smoking, had something to do with the bearings which is common with side loaders, and it made no financial sense to repair). I was super pissed as it was a nice, brand new washer when I bought it 7 years before. I lived alone for the vast majority of that time so I didn't even use it that often compared to a household with more people. I probably ran that machine no more than 120 times before it gave out, which in my opinion, is absolutely absurd. I don't know what it cost to use the coin laundromat these days, but it seems like owning your own washer and dryer isn't even cheaper; it's just more convenient (unless you're machines are reliable enough to last many years.

Our washing machine went out at the beginning of this year. Would you like to guess how much a single load of laundry will cost? If you guessed $11.00 dollars you'd be right, and the laundromat will have a phone app, so they can conveniently rip you off.

I can relate my washer broke thanksgiving morning, and we could not get a replacement until the following Monday. Cost me about a grand oh well sheet happens.
