My buddy is building a Carbon Cub and I told him he should paint “Hardware Sponsored by Harbor Freight” on the vertical stabilizer just to mess with FSDO.
Yep. Harbor freight is go to for builders for sundry items. Aircraft Spruce for plane specific items.

This is my retirement bird; take me and the boss wherever we want, whenever we want.

Had another friend that was an Aircraft Spruce rep. I called him the Snap-On salesman of the general aviation world.

If you are not working on the plane I will see you Tuesday. To those that don't know you this is the perfect project for you. I am glad you get to do this and know everything will be perfect and would love to volunteer for the first flight. I would love to help if I can.

Having built a Bede 5 ( never got to finish it ) , in the late 1980’s , best advice I could offer is buy as much premade parts as you can ! I still have nightmares about bending and forming the wing skins ! Luckily built a house for people , her uncle retired and came to me to build his house. Turns out he was a retired AI , he got a deal. Helped me a lot. Ended up selling it to him when I moved .

View attachment 8315250View attachment 8315251View attachment 8315252Rudder/brake pedal assembly complete. Had to rivet up the pedals, install master cylinders, match drill bearing blocks. Putting these aside for a while (have to paint interior prior to installation of anything).

Next project - finish up tailcone and join to fuse
Do you currently have the fuselage on a Rotisserie? If you do, I would highly recommend leaving it on the Rotisserie until you have everything that you can install from the outside, reaching in, installed.

My -7 has the landing gear on, and the wings off. It is currently undergoing the avionics upgrade. From personal experience, I can tell you how much fun it is to climb inside and get contorted into a rather uncomfortable position to do some stuff under the dash, just to figure out you need a different tool or part… I even dislocated a rib in the middle of my back having this much fun…

25+ years A&P. Your luck may vary.

My brother and an old friend of his built a kitfox probably 25 years ago. He eventually sold it and flew it to Montana for the buyer. It took him a pretty long time on the build

I am an A&P mechanic and private pilot. I own a 65/Aircoupe and a RV7. I did not build my RV I bought it with 61 hours on it. It is going through an IFR upgrade right now.

I live in Villa Rica and have 2 hangars. One at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and another at Stockmar in Villa Rica.

I don’t know what your skill set is, but I’d be willing to give you a hand when you need one.

I didn’t even know they still used Stockmar. Everytime I go by there it’s a ghost town.

My house is just off the 28 end of the runway. There is not whole lot of activity. I would have flown today if it wasn’t so cold. I will not start the motor below 35 degrees.
