If you attack an innocent victim and that victim dies, even though only only expected to injure him, not kill him, too bad. You killed him. You should give up your life. Death penalty for all murder, including felony murder. This isn't any lesser form of homicide, unless the victim provoked them in a way that would make REASONBLE people (not rabid sports-fan rednecks or ghetto thugs) lose control and attack the bigmouth victim.
If the victim wasn't asking for a beat-down, and these younger guys gave him one anyway, they should be on track to get taken out of this world with a needle. When America was a great country with as close to a properly-functioning criminal justice system as we ever had, it would be a judicial hanging to execute the death warrant. We can build a gallows for two killers to leave this earthly life side-by-side.

We should all take note of this case and be ready to cite it in the future for the proposition that a bare-handed beating by a strong man (or in this case, two husky strong-looking men) can be lethal. It IS often necessary to use a gun against an unarmed opponent. It may not be "fair" but it can be "legal" to end a fistfight with a bullet. If you reasonably fear the "fistfight" puts your life or limb in imminent danger.
