My sister and aunt both tell me that pork legislation is threatening old growth trees in Alaska that are irreplaceable national treasures. Like the trees in the heart of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, but covering a much larger area. Sounds like a terrible mistake. No one needs that timber. Everyone can use cultivated timber. Please call or email D.C. on this issue if you love the outdoors.

seems to be lots of "outdoorsmen" that dont care what happens to the outdoors nowadays. Damn shame i think.

I am always for the protection of our forests and ecosystems. lots of folks dont like regulations because they think if it prevents folks from making a buck but i think these kind of things are more important and should indeed be preserved.

The resource is the monument. It can be best used by not logging it. Logs can be harvested from Southern pine farms and other tree farms. Logging one of the world’s last old growth forests sounds like melting down a priceless irreplaceable historic gun barrel to cast a new AR barrel.

According to Wikipedia, for the logging up there, the government spends big taxpayer money building roads for the big special interest logging companies to use.

You can stumble around on the East coast yer whole life and never see wood like this.

If it is on public land, the tree huggers are stealing resources from the public. Obama was expert at grabbing public resources and locking them away.

I thought we threw those kinds out of office.

MAGA!

how exactly would this be stealing? and a large portion of the public would prefer these to stay right where they at so theres going to be some differing opinion if this makes anything "great".

i personally would vote and prefer they leave all old growth forests alone.
