Wow...so I guess I can check that one off the list. I'm used to hunting with crowds, Pigeon Mountain and John's Mountain are usually pretty crowded, especially Pigeon. If there's not many animals doesn't sound like it'd be worth the effort to compete with the masses. I usually do the January hog hunt on Pine Log, never tried it during deer season. Never seen a deer or deer sign there while hog hunting either, only pigs and yotes. Is Paulding Forest a descent place?

They hired guns to thin the herd at red top mnt years ago and I don't feel like it ever recovered, never see deer anymore.

Paulding has a lot more deer, it also has a good bit of people but walk in a little and you should have some luck.

Yup overhunted, but yes there is at least one bear in the area

Wasn't it bow only at one time? Maybe only shotguns and no rifles or something?

I also thought Cobb was bow only???

Pine Log hog hunt days are crowded . you can hunt hogs during small game with.a small game wpn, you'll have the place to yourself. I got one with a shotgun using a turkey load a couple years ago. Now I carry A CVA muzzleloader handgun. No luck yet but plenty of sign

Allatoona sucks big time. I've hunted it 100 times in 4 years and only saw 4 deer total & I walk a good distance in the woods where no one is hunting with very little sign. This was my last year hunting there that's for sure. Every wma will be crowded. Just put some good time scouting and walk further in the woods than everyone else and you'll most likely find more deer and they will push them towards you. Good luck man!
