Alpaca Mexican silver grips for 1911? Who knows about these?

Anybody know what these are or what they're worth? To make a long story short, I did a little research on these myself and found them to be worth between $80-100. I listed them on eBay and the bidding has gone over $500 and I'm starting to wonder exactly what the hell I have here? They're Sterling silver with gold plating.

In person the they look tacky as **** to me. I've had them in a shoe box with a bunch of other random grips for years. I would have took $20 for them if someone had offered before I did a little research.
