OP buys yeti knockoff coolers yet keeps $500 1911 grips in a shoebox
I can easily see someone swapping the OEM grips out for mother of pearl or ivory and then, well, tossing these in a shoe box somewhere and forgetting about them.Lucky for me it appears two or three people have a pistol missing the grips.

Providence. It's not just a city in Rhode Island.I inherited these from my Uncle in a shoe box full of other grips and random little gun parts.
He made his own Sterling silver jewelry. He would buy Sterling silver from pawn shops, and melt it down. He probably planned on melting these grips and just never got around to it.
