Am I stupid?

I've been thinking about getting rid of my M1 Garand and buying a Ruger Hawkeye Varmint Target in 308?

I haven't shot my M1 in ages and I prefer the M1 carbine.

Should I just keep my M1? I've been sort of bitten by the precision bug.

I've never owned a Garand and haven't fired one in decades but i can't imagine selling one if I was able to save up for a precision rifle.

I'm trying to stop spending and sell stuff I don't use anymore.

I use to be big into C&R but I never shot any of them.

I have had to narrow down the number of guns I own due to a work injury last year but I have a couple that I plan on passing on to my sons someday that I could never get rid of...a Garand would be something I'd hang on to.
