Clean truck, massive lift sits higher than a 2500 for sure. Rough country lift, nice wheels and tires, I’ll post another pic when it’s all buttoned up and wheels are back on.

Got a string of 5.7 5.3 lifter/cam failure jobs coming up. Probably 15 or more.

Gonna post pictures and mileage with a few exterior pictures in case anyone is interested in buying something that’s currently being fixed Instead of gambling with CarMax etc.

What do you believe to be the root cause? The push for extended maintenance intervals or the cylinder deactivation? Both maybe?
Definitely the deactivation the lifters they use are horrible, this guy definitely took care of this vehicle. I’d be mad and trade it in too if it still ate my cam lol, which I’ll have out in the morning and post a pic.
Not as bad as some of the ones I’ve seen by looking at the lifter.

Are there delete kits for the RAM trucks like there are for the GM engines?

GM has problems with it as well.
Absolutely, I’d say gm system is better though. In terms of quality of the actual lifter.
I still think to buy anything with these deactivation systems is kind of foolish.
Unless you like upgrading every 2-5 years.

I prefer the Ford v8 don’t have to worry about as much, they’re all having trans issues though but more gm than anyone.

Yes you can buy a delete kit
