Another 5.7/5.3 Bites The Dust!

They brought back the old GM V-8-6-4 garbage .
It didn’t work back then and it doesn’t work today .
If you have a vehicle with the cylinder deactivation garbage . Get the kit to lock it out . And change the oil every 3k .

Been slacking.. another hemi tapping loud, small pitting in cam lobes, lifters look fine but somethings a miss, was skipping slightly. This kind of pitting is more common on the gm.

Someone has been in here, new water pump maybe lifters were installed recently and failed?

I found a free snap on pick under the radiator :D

I'll start with, I'm not a mechanic by trade in any way at all.
However, I have built a few motors and daily drove them.
Also have owned Rams for the last 10 years.
I've done extensive research on the lifter failure of these motors, and it's the needle bearing's in the lifter that is the problem.
Not MDS..
Hear me out, it does predominantly happen on MDS cylinders.
But, it also has been a problem on many that it's not.
Take 2500's for example, they are not equipped with MDS and it still happens, manual transmission equipped challengers still have it.
Mostly it has to do with idle hours and low maintenance vehicle's is my opinion.

You’re correct, check the previous posts..
I mention the needle bearing and how they fail on the 3.6 as well. Very common and expensive repair if you’re paying someone to do the work.
