Another 5.7/5.3 Bites The Dust!

Are you seeing similar with automatic 392’s?
Most of the time it’s on the 5.7 6.4 and Cummins platform in the trucks.
Not sure if people over load them or bad materials etc.

We’ve definitely done some of the 6.4 autos in the trucks, only done one on a 6.4 manual challenger. Probably operator error that time.

Done a couple dodge rear end rebuilds as well, usually a 2500.

Still nowhere near as many as the gm transmissions, I’m so damn good at torque converter replacements I could probably do it blind folded.

Man they need to focus on reliability and not turning off half the engine. So annoying, that they focus on the wrong things. The 8 speed on the GM's has had some issues.

I'm still a Toyota 5.7/4.7 person since it seems to work pretty good for the most part.

It makes a man wonder at why they would keep the MDS system after all the years of lifter and cam failures out of the 4th gens with the 5.7L

Well they do it because of the epa and all that garbage.

Blame the government..

I’m curious to see these new i6 twin turbos they’re dropping the hemi for.. it’d be the power you want, the fuel mileage you want, and easy to work on if they do it right.

Don’t get me started on the dodge 3.6 as of now, almost everyone of them is a cam swap job. I’ll have some of those soon I’m sure, you won’t believe how far the roller eats into the cam on some of them.
