It sounds like a strong-arm robbery attempt.
Perhaps burglary, if the store lobby was closed and only the drive-thru service was open at the time.
They should be charged with burglary. Breaking and entering a building for the purpose of stealing food.

P.S. Remember up here in Cumming, a very prosperous suburb 40 miles north of Atlanta, a (white, middle aged) police detective went nuts at the drive-thru window of our local McDonalds and brandished his duty pistol over some problem with his fries or nuggets or something. It was charged as a felony and a career-ending move for that law enforcement officer!
