I'm about to file for disability and I assume that a lawyer would help. Any suggestions for a good experienced lawyer in north Georgia?

thanks

Really! What a forest. After a heart attack in 2011 and a real bad back from 40 years of landscaping I'm not disabled. What gives with all the disabled across the country?!Answer a phone ,go to work at a job that is less physical! But don't expect us to give to a government program that enables people to quit working.Dont get me wrong there are folks out there that deserve disability from their work places or service areas. But !!!!!!!!!!

But!!!!!!!!!!! What,How do you qualify for SSDI any idea? It's not an easy process, usually take between 3-6 months only after meeting basic financial requirements and seeing numerous qualified Doctors do you even get considered. We all pay for it but seems as tho some here think everyone gets it for free after just asking for it.Farthest thing from the truth.I wouldn't recommend any atty as they just want your money or a portion of what you may or may not get.I would contact your local Senator or Congressmans office and ask for assistance, afterall you are paying their ridiculous salary.

Just so you'll know it took me over a yr to get the minimum allowed under the requirements even after going thru my Senators office and seeing 3 different specialist(orthopedic surgeons).I was in an EFD for 13 months and had 8 months of rehab, lost my house, car and business in the meantime and my wife left me as well because it was just really tough on us financially and mentally.Once I began receiving my early retirement it stopped as my S.S put me over their financial limits that you also have to qualify for. It's no walk in the park and I wish you well and hope eveythings OK and hope you survive better than I did

Yes, there are good SS lawyers.....they all work for Uncle Sam.

Seriously, SSDI is a very tough nut to crack. And if you get a lawyer, they will want to be paid, either outright or a portion of your benefits.

I have a disease that is listed as untreatable by SS. My doctor says that my condition will only get worse. I'm a combat Veteran that's worked and served my entire life.

Laws now cap the lawyers payment at 20% of your back-pay or $6000 (whichever is less). I should have about 5 years of back-pay coming to me.
