Sten all day long. The stock and sideways magwell we're a dead giveaway. I hope it's a registered amnesty piece . Otherwise it's doomed.
I THINK the aluminum piece may be a pistol grip.ive seen pistol grips for the paratrooper versions for sale in the Shotgun News before.

That is a custom grip.
OK, so it's a pistol-grip only alternative to the shoulder stock, which is also in that kit.
Yeah, so if this isn't a non-firing dummy / replica, it's got two issues:
Machinegun, and
Short barreled rifle.
Even if it were a semi-auto only version of the STEN gun, that short barrel and shoulder stock don't go together without NFA registration, unless there's some C&R exception that I don't know about (I doubt it for military guns like this... this isn't some boy's .22 rifle with a folding wire stock intended to go on camping trips with Boy Scouts).
The "legal" thing to do is, after the person who is the executor or administrator examines it to see if it's real, is to notify ATF and have them run the serial number. If it's not registered under the NFA and transferable, it will have to be turned-over and eventually destroyed by the feds.

Mayhap it is. It could also be a semi conversion. If you look closely the receiver is smaller in dia. than normal. Still trouble if the barrel is too short.
