That was part of it in the 70s, when I did it. "Ben Brown Mudhole" in Paulding county comes to mind, just one of many. What is now Paulding Forest WMA required lift kits and tall tires, just to hunt. You could ride all week-end in those woods and never see pavement, also where Seven Hills and Bentwater is now. Good ol`` days, even though it cost us engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes axles, and body parts. Beer comes to mind. Glad I gave that up.It's gettin deep when you're dragging axles and undercarriages.......

Gates there are normally closed between hunting seasons unless they are logging. When they are logging the loggers will lock you in in the evening. Watch out.Dayum! That's interesting to know. I have a stock F-150 4x4 pickup, and even now I drive slowly through Paulding WMA. Sounds like it was a much different story back then!
I went there today in Braswell (Blue Car Body Rd), and much to my surprise, they had the entrance closed.
Just ĝo a few miles north to Nimblewill Gap rd. You can go over the mountain and end up in Ellijay or F.S road 28 towards Camp Merril.
Be careful…it can be addictive!AmbiEncE thanks for this, we got back yesterday. The ride to the big turn around at the top was bumpy and fun. Going down the other side got hairy. There were a few sections I had to walk a line and then about half way we got to something impassable without more significant gear than we had. So I did a 37 point turn to go back the way we came.
Ended up pretty well stuck in one little section that I had to pop out of. A few dicey moments but I was in my daily, on street tires, with no armor or winch. I would advise anybody that wants to do this get yourselves ready for the idea that you will mess something up.
I didn't have another adult with me so no spotter, but the kids had a blast and I didn't break anything. A few pinstripes but that's just proof we had fun
