My dad who is 98 needs his deck replaced. His health is failing and he is basically in a wheelchair now but keeps wanting to go out on the deck. Deck boards are rotting and to me it is unsafe. Can anyone recommend someone? Or even give a ballpark figure. Nothing fancy about 12x20. About 3 ft above ground. Thanks in advance.

Is the framing sound? If so, just pull up the old boards and put new down. Hopefully you don't have to build a new one, my brother is having one added now and it's costing him $15K. Its way the heck off the ground and he's having it built sturdy enough for a hot tub.

Wow! 98. I don't build decks for a living but I would assume a small deck like that would be around 4000. Most decent contractors are pretty booked up these days. I have a friend who might be able to help but he's probably a couple months out

My dad is 84 and loves going out on the front (brick) porch.
Walkers, canes and wheelchairs can be tricky on his back wooden deck.
crippen crippen may have a hook up if the job is too small for him to do.

Athens is out of our range in the busy season. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone out that way or any other way for that matter.
