Anybody done a Ford 5.0 EFI swap?

I wired up the factory FI, but knew I could get more power from that stock 5.0.

So... I put a fitech on it, edelbrock manifold gm style hei distributor.
Really woke up that engine
So I havent looked at the aftermarket efi in 15 years. The price of the FiTech is suspiciously low. I see its chinese made which isnt always bad. But I saw a review where it ran great for only one year before the ecu fried. How long have you been running yours? For $800 its a smoking deal for the drivability you get but Im concerned about long term durability. They really need to step up and add at least a 2-5 year warranty to the ecu. I know that sounds ridiculous for an electronic part but as cheap as electronics are now days, their already good sales would be even better with that. Throttle bodies/injectors can be rebuilt by most mechanics regardless of brand but if a proprietary ecu goes, you're done.

I would go with a Holley or similar self tuning job. That eliminates the need for a computer interface and go back and forth for a good tune. Just go with that system mentioned and will self tune and get better as you drive and it keeps the original look with the fueling system.
