Anyone debated Glock vs P365/XL with Red Dot Optic?

I'm going with the Glock 43X MOS and Holosun HS507K X2. I'm having the slide modified so that a plate will not be needed and I can mount standard night sights. I hope it turns out well as this will be my first red dot. My current EDC is the 43X with Trijicon HDs and TLR6 light/laser. I also have S15 mags for both setups.

This is what I'm leaning toward. A P365XL w/Romeo 0. Saw one at Bullseye in L'ville new for $799 this week. Guys on here are asking about that or more. Saw one for $650 on here late last year so will keep an eye out.

Love my 365XL and I use the Romeo 0 on it, but not as a carry gun. Picking up a RDO off the draw requires a lot of practice, and I find that even though it may be faster in the end, the irons on my regular 365 are faster for me at this point.

Also, the Romeo 0 isn't the best RDO in the world. It's sole purpose is to fit on the narrow 365 slide, and everything else is subordinate to that. I find the control hard to access and non-intuitive and because it's so small the window you see the dot in is smaller than another RDO i've seen. It's very easy to lose the dot. It also feel cheap... although I don't know if that's a valid criticism.

That all being said, if you do go that route let me know. I ended up with an extra Romeo 0 from a 'cancelled' Optics Planet order that still shipped (and charged), and I have no use for two of them. It's BNIB and I'd take $100 just to get back part of my money. I've given up on OP as a place to buy stuff... they have gone down the tubes.

Thanks for that. Good feedback. Sent you a PM.

I have a p365xl with optic on back order. Multiple 19 glocks with Trijicon, venom, etc. I’m going to try it. I also carry a everywhere constantly. The 19 in and out of work. I’m going to try the p365 and see how I like it.

I've carried the 365xl with the holosun 507k for about a year now. I like it but I personally shoot a Glock 48 better. I just got one about a month ago but I've been running it with irons. I feel comfortable with either it's apples and oranges. But if you do decide to get the 365xl get it with the irons. Then buy the holosun over the romeo zero. It's 100$ more but leaps and bounds above the romeo zero. If you get the 365xl with the romeo zero already on it, you won't get the plate with the rear iron sight. Sig doesn't sell them either. Also the romeo zero lense scratches easy, it's polymer, and the one button design is bull**** to adjust when the lighting changes

Also the hand all grip that hogue makes for the 365xl is a game changer for the grip. I also added tandemcross base plates to my flush 12 round mags

I have a Gen4 and Gen5 (non-MOS) G19 and a P365. I want to get one of them milled and put an RDO on it. I carry the P365, the Glocks are for range/home defense. I'm also thinking about picking up a P365XL with Romeo 0 and just being done with it. I'd hate to go through the trouble and expense of milling and cerakote only to find I don't even like it, which is why I'm considering the P365XL w/Romeo. Plus I really like the ergos of the Sigs.

  • Anybody look at these two particular options and how/what did you decide? Is it your carry gun?
  • Is it worth considering anything other than the RMR? Holoson, Deltapoint, etc.?
  • Who does good milling work in the Atlanta area?
  • Who the hell thought front serrations on a Glock was a good idea? You don't mess with perfection. lol
Any feedback appreciated.
Well I couldn’t decide so I basically have both. The shadow Systems isn’t a GLOCK but it’s a clone and takes all Glock parts.
I’ve got the Trijicon RMR on the CUSTOM M&P and Shadow Systems MR920 Elite. I’ve got the Romeo Zero on the P365xl.
I love the MR920 but if I had to choose one for concealed carry it would have to be the P365xl With Romeo 0. You just can’t beat the ease of carrying, Cost and capacity. With the 15 round mag (I carry as a spare) then you have the capacity of the G19.
Happy to answer anymore questions.
BTW Ive been a M&P guy for years but am selling it now because it gets no carry time. I carry the P365xl 85% of the time
