I noticed that a container of crumbled blue cheese I had in the frig was particularly pungent and very tasty. I bought another container at the store that had almost no mold showing in the cheese. I took some of the pungent, very moist blue cheese and mixed in the container of very mild blue cheese. Now the penicillium roqueforti that was pungent has spread all through the new container and that cheese now has the same robust flavor.

Anyone else ever tried this?

I never transferred any mold, but I do love me some blue cheese.

I make my own dressing, sour cream, blue cheese, fresh ground black pepper, and a dash of lemon juice.

If you move down around Darien and Brummick you'll have green mold on everything with no problem. I used to catch hell trying to keep it off my leather slings, knife sheath and my old dress shoes I still have from the car bidness.
BTW... I used to like blue cheese until now...

Do you live over in Crystal Lake apartments ?
LOL. The guy that owns those now acts like he was unaware of any issues. 35 years ago they were an affordable nice place to live. Lots of friends that were Mercer students lived there.

I wouldn't go over there in broad daylight now
