Anyone ever do a spray can paint on vehicle

A good friend of mine did his 71 Cadillac 4 door with a brush and house paint. He is a professional though.

Did the hood and roof of an old Cherokee I once had. Used truck rattle can spray lacquer. Dark Graphite. Looked pretty good. Prep is the thing you must do. Good sanding, mineral spirits wash, tack rag, mask off, spray away. 2-3 light coats work best.

All roller. Doesn't look to bad when you stand back. Up close its pretty ruff

If you're going to do it yourself at least buy a $20 harbor freight hvlp gun and some automotive paint. The cost will probably be roughly the same and you'll save a **** load of time and get a better results.

something flat or satin preferably primer anything glossy
will highlight bad body work

Back in the hood, we always spray painted our cars flat black. Best results were spraying on overcast days or evening hours- no direct sunlight. Spraying in direct sunlight caused striping.

Helpful tip; spray the windows from the inside, they look much better that way.
