Anyone ever gone on a dream hunt for whitetail deer?

The "experience and sense of adventure" was why I went on a guided hunt. A dream hunt should not just culminate in a record deer but new terrain, new methods, agriculture, weather, types of woods, farms...etc. Making memories with close friends!

I saw 113 deer in my first sit the last season I went to KY. Shooters mostly out of range but in 4 days I sat all day every day and did not fall asleep, too many deer and their bodies morph GA. deer.

Have not yet but have been thinking about trying to get a small, outstanding core group of guys together and doing a, for lack of a better word, “dream hunt”. Thinking three or four like minded people and picking a prime, fair chase, all inclusive hunt. Everybody has a different definition of a trophy and I’m ok with that, I’m thinking more for the experience and fellow ship… and the chance to take a good buck. Archery or firearms, either would be fine with me. Probably the top two locations for me would me Iowa or Montana.
I’m in for that!

I went on what I thought would be a dream hunt but it turned out to be a big disappointment even after killing a 206" buck. Was supposed to be as close to a fair chase low fence hunt you could have behind a high fence around 7500 acres. My hunt lasted a total of about 30 minutes and I found out later the area I hunted was high fenced 160 acres. It was such a canned hunt. Took the entire adventure out of also. The people who ran it had no personalities or people person skills. Their only concern was getting your tag filled and to get the next hunter in.

Gotta do your research. My college roommate who is now very successful financially went to Kentucky with me. He has hunted all over the world, Africa, Argentina' Canada...etc and he said the Kentucky experience and guides were one of the best he had experienced.

Word of mouth is reliable.

Every time I go into the woods is a dream hunt.
It’s not the size of the deer it’s honing your skills to the point you can sneak up on one even if you know it knows you’re there.
