Anyone going early season squirrel hunting?

I love the opportunity to be in the woods but the hot weather most likely will keep me from going

My boy and I will probably get after them on the opener. We don’t usually see very many with the wolves in them, if we do shoot one that has them, we still skin it out for the dumpling pot. The wolves don’t hurt a thing.

I've never hunted before. Asked around about it last year in here and got some advice to try for squirrels for the first go round to get into it as a beginner, so I am going to be doing it soon here, a week or so

I hunt year round!! In my yard!!
I kill at least 15-20 a year!!

IT IS A LONG SHOT. I was more interested in what kind of accuracy I could get with the gun and ammo (hence the bench shooting) than a hunting rig. The Velocitors are a full 40 grain hollow point traveling at an advertised 1435 FPS so i moved from 50 yards sight in to 75. Didn't really build it for hunting (too heavy for walking around all day).

your first post said years,not yards... you got a one inch drop at 75 years...thats a long shot....

That's funny, did not notice the years/yards error. But being 73 myself, I can attest that many things have dropped more than 3 inches near the 75 year mark.

Being accurate, sighted in at 75 yards, bullet drop at 100 is supposed to be 3" - however, I really never took a shot at game with it.
