Anyone have to remedy Duramags??

First time getting GI mags…

So I noticed even before I went to use these that the lip of the neck of the round catches on the front of the mag. Also the two small “wings “ in the front area get in the way. I had to grind these off and down to make it work.

Are they for real?? Or am I out of line?

I did go through and manually cycle a few. They were hard to go into battery. so I just went ahead and modified. I just shot two mags. Runs fine.

Plus the edges were razor sharp. took some plumbers tape and rounded them. Also, don’t tap these on a hard surface to settle rounds as you load! Aluminum!! Haha I’m done being a bitch. Just got spoilt with Pmags I guess.

There are many, many reasons why no metal mags are approved for combat use anymore in the USMC.

Gen3 pmags can be scored for less than $10 now.

There's really no reason to use or consider anything else at this point. 10 bucks is peanuts, can't even load the mag for less than that.

Sell those cheap to some other sucker and get some gen 3's.

Agreed I already have maybe 30 GEN two and Gen three Pmags so I figured I was gonna try something different but at least I only ordered three of them. I like the look of them because I can do distressed paint or whatever but if they don’t work then what the hell are we even talking about. AMIRITE?
