Anyone into precision air rifle?

You might want to check with your county 4-H office. Many counties in GA have 4-H rifle teams that include 5 meter bb gun, 10 meter air rifle and .22 rimfire at 25 and 50 meters. All are precision type 3 or 4 position style shooting.

I'm sure I'm getting ahead of myself but my son will hopefully (eventually) make the air rifle team at his high school. Even if he doesn't (only 8 rifles, over 30 trying out and he's a freshman.... :( ) I hope he will at some point. I know little/nothing about the discipline much less the equipment but curious from those that are familiar, what might be a 'decent' (no, it can't have a comma in the price) rifle to purchase.
This is for 3 position 10m CMP style competitions.

These are all foreign to me. http://www.airgundepot.com/10m-air-rifles.html#
Only ones I'm remotely familiar with are pump and break action (spring) rifles. Never owned anything PCP.

My daughter just made the rifle team at North Paulding High School. Where was your son trying out?

To learn a bit up close and personal give Lisa at the Ole Mill Range in Griffin a call... She is a qualified coach and conducts many state matches there for Air Rifle, Pistol and 3 position 22. I'm sure you can visit a match and learn quite a bit from her...They are having a large invitational during the later portion of this month.. "ole mill invitational" the best and worst(me) shooters from the state will be there.

For used air equipment( once you figure out what you want) check out TargetTalk on the net...

The range is very easy to find(once you know what it looks like) they do call it ole mill for a reason. It's a great range with electronic targets.

Great facility. Outside looks like it's haunted but inside is a very nice shooting venue with the nicest people.
