Anyone know old shotguns well?

Got offered this as a trade...no information to speak of about it, and super grainy pictures to go with it...

Claimed as a 16ga Damascus double barrel (at least I can confirm the double barrel part).

Can anyone shed a little light?

That's my inclination as well. But I'm a sucker for (potentially) interesting firearms, so I couldn't get my curiosity to stay quiet, lol.

Good question. If it is a Damascus double, I'd be real hesitant to shoot it.

Neither, technically. I'd simply flip it for cash.

Haven't had much luck trying to research it. His argument is that it could be worth thousands. Technically, there's a chance, but I think it's a greater chance of not being worth very much.

At this point, it's more a matter of historical curiosity, than investment interest.

Wall hanger at best. Judging by the latch position, lockup is poor. That coupled with damascus barrels means it is not a shooter.

Check our gunvaluesboard.com. There’s one or two guys on there who live and breath old shotguns. They answered questions I had about a few old guns in my family.

At the least, you need all the markings off the gun.

1- I would say the Locking Blocks are worn out.. 2- Looks like the stock is cracked in one of the Pic, Might make a good Wall Hanger or trade for a High Point.
