The SIG Cross barrel has a barrel extension, similar to the way that an AR barrel does. The extension is not even remotely similar to an AR extension, however.

The SIG Cross bolt headspaces on the extension, like an AR, and not on the receiver like most bolt actions.

The barrel slips into the receivers, and is retained with a barrel nut, just like an AR, but AR barrels and extensions are not interchangeable with SIG Cross barrels and extensions.

So desert tech with extra steps. Wondered how sig was doing theirs.

Not as quick and easy as DT, but a lot less expensive.

My partner and I market a “reaction rod” just for safely removing/reinstalling the barrel on the Cross.

I am going to just stick with a 700 style action. Using a Remage barrel and a chassis will be more convenient.
