Anyone remember the original Hollywood Squares?

Could you imagine those sorts of questions/answers today? And on 'broadcast' TV?

Anyone remember "The Gong Show"? I'm sure much from that show went over the heads of us kids.
I think of that show every time I accidentally see one of those new "talent" type shows.

Also one of my favorite shows. Funny as all get out to me. Some of the "talent" on there left me scratching my head.

For those of us who remember the (original) Hollywood Squares:
(For those who don't, you might want to look up who these people were.)

These great questions and answers are from the days when 'Hollywood Squares' game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course.

Q. Paul, what is a good reason for pounding meat?
A. Paul Lynde: Loneliness!
(The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!)

Q. Do female frogs croak?
A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough.

Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?
A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

WE DON'T STOP LAUGHING BECAUSE WE GROW OLD, WE GROW OLD BECAUSE WE STOP LAUGHING!
TKS FOR THE MAMMERIES

Ya'll remember the 3 channels we got, and having to turn the antenna to bring in a channel, in black and white. And when color TV came out you was high cotton to have one. Remember the motels with the signs, AC, and color TV. The funny part is we thought all was good.

It was all good, actually better.

Wow what a trip down memory lane. We would watch Match Game and The Gong Show after school. Match Game in particular always had us laughing. I miss those days. Everything was simpler. Youtube has the best from all of our favorites. I will watch them and still laugh my azz off. Paul Lynde was funny as hell. Loved his answers.
