Anyone use blackpowder rifle for turkey hunting?

A number of years back I wanted to take a turkey with each legal weapon; shotgun, bow and black powder.
I used a very light for caliber sabot slug that I scored a good bit more using a dremel tool. It worked but it ran about 45 yards and then piled up. So, watch if you can if you decide to do it.

Took me 4 hours to find my bow bird.

I settled on the fact that the shotgun is by far the best tool for the trade.

I only use one, if I got a field turkey that I can't trick after a couple of weeks of doing everything trick I know, and he's done really pissed me off.

In all my wheeling and dealing, I've come into possession of a .36 cal. and I'm thinking I might try it for turkey hunting. Effective range is not much more than a shotgun.

I've hunted turkey with a 50 cal muzzy before ,but missed just to the right .

About 2 weeks later I killed that same bird with my old 12 gauge h&r breakdown.

He had a broken tail feather right where the 50 cal went thru his fan as he was struttin. :)
