Anyone watching CD rates closely?

Any local banks offering close to 5% on a 12-18 month? Looking to stay out of a brokerage account if possible.

Only place I see close to what you want is looking at brokered cds through Vanguard.

Local to me I think 4% is about the best I have seen. (ETA - More like 3.6 - 3.8 ish)

I have no idea why people buy bank CD's when the most liquid assets in the world (UST) have a higher yield.

I got a 9 month CD for a rate of 4.75% through my advisor at Edward Jones today.

Synchrony Bank had 4.75% last week.

Bank of Ozarks advertised 4%.Credit Karma was around 3.5%for 18 months
