AO door checkers?

How does a place like this stay open? the Gun community has all but shunned it, customers are treated like criminals, and everyone says their service sucks? Is this a drug front?

Price, location, and volume are their claims to fame.

We are but a small portion of the "gun community" and there are no places with their selection on 285.

Stupid question here.

How do you check a holster for proper fit with a 1.5" tag hanging off of it and the slide partially to the rear? In the past I took the holster I like to the gun counter an asked to borrow an identical pistol for a minute.

One time I actually witnessed one of their genius employees test fit a gun with a cable through it in a holster for someone. The gun got hung up in the holster that was a kydex Blackhawk style holster and they could not get it out. Needless to say they had to destroy the holster to get it off the customer's gun...He looked pissed.

I was up there with a friend a couple of years ago.

He was looking at a used 1911 and the guy behind the counter was breaking it down for him to inspect. My buddy tried to tell him the proper breakdown procedure, but this guy was too smart to listen.

He got it taken apart and said "I bet you didn't know there are two ways to take it apart. Did you?"
Friend: "There are two ways to field strip that particular weapon. The right way and the way you did it."

I guess that is one reason they don't allow used weapons to be broken down for inspection anymore.

Yep...but I have a couple of guns that they no longer have in their cases. That's the only reason I would carry one unconcealed into the store.

Can I ask a dumb question? What is AO?

Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna...

Hardly a drug front. Regardless of their problems, they sell more guns on a given Saturday than any of the other gun stores in Cobb County sell in a week, or perhaps even a month. And captdave77 has it right - no one else has the selection they do. They even had the Mossberg 930 SPX I want in stock...there's a lot of stores that can't get their hands on the one I want - and that includes a lot of the internet stores as well.

Sign says, "Check guns here.". If you chose to check it, theY clear the chamber, place a re-usable tie in the back of the trigger guard and hold onto your magazine.

I however follow the captdave77 school of thought... "check my gun"? Yup it's still there!

They don't tag it through the action, just around the trigger guard and if you want to check holster fit you can ask for a long tag so that it won't get in the way.
