AO door checkers?

The guys behind the counter are hardly 'experts'. Some of them are off-duty LEO's...but only a few of them that I know about. The rest are just people off the streets from what I can tell...

I take that back... it wasn't AO... it was Academy Sports that I went to.
They have a sign on the door that says you have to check the weapon. I was OCing my bigger gun... didn't have my CCW with me. Left it in the car and went in.

Love going in there... there's a guy "educating" another guy about buying a gun... and was sad they didn't have a 50 Cal because, and I quote... "the only thing worth carrying."
He gave me the stink eye because I was looking at the Taurus PT22 in pink for my gf...

But do they have inflated prices like other big box stores?

Nope. As a matter of fact, they tend to be cheaper than the local gun shop. I picked up my Shield from them a few weeks back for $399. Every other place around me was advertising them at full retail price of $ 449......of course, none of them actually had any in stock.

Academy also has a pretty good ammo selection with reasonable prices.

hmmm sounds good, maybe I can find a deal on a 10-22

If you people would stop patronizing the businesses that don't allow you to carry (an let them know why) they would soon change their policy. Most of you won't do business w/an eating joint that has a sign on the door. What makes a gun store doing it any more bearable. After all, they make a living with guns and I can't carry mine in there ? Right, I don't do business w/those types.
