Try substituting the brown sugar with approx 1.5-2 cups honey. And never ad the everclear until everything has cooled off. Don't want the alcohol to cook off.

Turned out great. You can't taste the alcohol but you can tell it's there. A couple of glasses of this and you won't be feeling any pain. I will be taking some to hunting camp and sharing with some friends. Tasty stuff. 1 1/2 gallons should last for a while. I can't imagine this spoiling very fast if kept in the fridge. I was tempted to put it in mason jars and can it in a water bath. Still might do that with a couple of jars.

I can remember lying on the cold tile floor unable to get up as the room spins. Think I was sick for the entire next day.
