ar-15's at walmart

Bushmasters are made in Ilion NY at the Remington factory by Freedom Group. Bushmaster used to be manufactured in Windham ME before freedom group bought the name and relocated the company to New York. Windham Weaponry is owned by the former owner of Bushmaster and are manufactured in the original bushmaster factory, on original bushmaster equipment, by original bushmaster employees. Pre 2004 Bushmaster was the best AR money could buy.

The best AR money could buy...good bang for buck but best? I'd have to disagree but appreciate the sentiment

check Academy, they had 4 today , Walmart 2, Academy was @ 200 cheaper than wally world. ARs are starting to show up, ammo in other places in 5.56 green tip for 10.99

so my local wally world has 2 windham armory ar-15's in stock. actually been sitting there for 3 days, the dept manager told me. some guy bought one while i was there. don't know if that's a good price or not. i don't know anything about windham armory

What was the price? Academy had one last time I was in there (can't remember price now. :( )

Academy sells them for 929.00 - I know, I recently bought one there. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it. I added some MagPul accessories and topped it off with a Nikon P223 scope in 3x9x40 BDC. My total investment is about 1200.00. I didn't feel a need to buy something more expensive for gun that I purchased for fun - not home defense, not competition, and not for hire work. If you're looking for a quality AR thats in the sub 1k range, it's a good pick.

called them just now and they still have it in stock

I know of several stores that have ARs in stock but they're not name brands. If it was a Sig,a colt or a bushmaster, it'd be gone. Plus I think there's a lot of customer fatigue over it in general. I except for one have had to overpay and buy online but it beat going on the ammo runs ever so often. I don't know how those check drawers do all of that running around and waiting in line every day. I'm glad it's dying down...for the moment.
