AR build questions

Given the deals out there, it would be hard to justify piecing an upper together (you really need an armorer's wrench and a vise block to build the upper)... But you could always take it apart if you buy a complete one.

Building the lower is easy and the only "special tool" needed is a spanner wrench to tighten the stock tube nut.

It isn't that difficult if you pay attention and follow the guidelines like correct torque on the barrel nut. There is a vast array of parts out there you need to be sure you get the correct ones for the build you are doing such as gas tube and handgaurd quadrail length correct gas block size and type.
Make sure you headspace with a go no go set or have a gunsmith do it. bad things happen if headspace is incorrect.

With all the deals out there, it may be hard to justify the cost of a build

Youtube and Midway USA are the best ways to learn. Just watch as many videos as you can on the subject.

You will need:
Vise (good table mounted model)
AR15 upper vise block
AR15 armorers tool
Roll pin punches
Metal punches
Vise grips
Needle nose pliers
Feeler guage or other thin strip of metal (to install the front takedown detent)
Painters tape
Vasoline
CLP

Please don't be that guy who builds an AR with dents and scratches all over it because you didn't spend an extra $100 for the proper tools.

Be careful with the detents. Be careful with the bolt catch roll pin. Take your time.
