are percussion caps as powerful as pistol cartridge primers?
I ask as I am wondering about wax bullets in a percussion cap cylinder revolver.

Thanks, I got the following from another forum.
However, I'm wondering if the cream of wheat filler would be enough buffer from melting the wax bullet?
I guess it wont hurt to try?

"Percussion caps are apparently not as powerful as pistol primers. With that being said, maybe about five grains of powder with cream of wheat as a space filler would obviate the need for a more powerful cap. If you can use the wax bullets with what you already have in inventory, then you might save yourself some money and irritation."
